2nd Annual Moonlight Ramble Trail Race

No Vacancy!  The 2012 Moonlight Ramble is officially a sellout.  A rainy start to the weekend has left the course soft and sloppy for some night-time racing.  Falls were common.  As evidenced by all the muddy gear, instead of "leaving it all on the course", several runners brought some of the course with them to the finish line.  In the end, Joe Windeknecht and Brigitte Stotter will claim their rocks and jog away in a fresh pair of New Balance shoes. The race series is once again a big hit and successfully promotes area trail running.  The trail running and racing "buzz" among the local running community and on social media continues to see a rise.

For Joe Windeknecht, a start to finish lead in the Moonlight Ramble results in a come from behind overall male series championship.  Joe's 29:21 ramble betters his 30:17 turkey time for a victory spread of nearly two minutes over Meandering Turkey winner Clayton Myers (61:24).  Brock Kasten (62:04), Patrick Watson (63:39), and Shaun Rellergert (63:46) are the top males.

 

Brigitte Stotter defends her 2011 overall female championship with a combind time of 71:38.  Brigitte shaves nearly 5:00 minutes off her previous year's winning time to outpace Mary Evans who is second with a 72:43.  Madeline McDonald (78:55), Marcy Ambler (79:34), and Heather Fisher (82:23) lead the series overall female field.
