15th Annual Jackson Homecomer 5K

Jackson, MO -- July 23, 2013 (Results @ Cape Road Runners: http://www.caperoadrunners.org/results.htm )

Event:    Jackson Homecomer 5K

Location:    City Park Legion Field - Jackson

Total Finishers:    110

Conditions: Overcast/Thunder Storm 90°                    (Heat Index 96°).

Race Comments:  Not even an improvised early start could beat the onslaught of heavy rain, lightning, 40 mph gusts, and even dime-size hail as the final finishers crossed the finish line.

Recent Jackson High graduate Nate Martin tuned up his race legs one last time before heading off to Missouri Valley College in Marshall to begin his collegiate running career.  Nate covered the course unchallenged in 17:53.  Another Jackson High product, and collegiate runner at Southeast Missouri State, Lindsey Seabaugh, claimed the female overall championship averaging just under 6:45 per mile to finish at 20:53.

Kids Mile winners were Landon Carlton (6:47) and Riley Wyatt (7:53).
