Thanksgiving morning and the Second Annual Gobble Wobble 5K is set for its first running as part of the Cape Road Runners Grand Prix.  The next to last race in the series originates from The Osage Center and features a flat out-and-back course on the LaCroix Trail.  Over 200 runners and walkers, including several full families and first timers, are out in force on this crisp morning for some pre-feasting exercise.  A dense and chilly fog hangs over the area and will provide a backdrop for Tim Vollink to capture some of the most artful running photos ever snapped at a local running event.

Matt Pfau (17:14) will start strong, survive a tumble at the turnaround, and cruise in unchallenged for the overall win.  Less than one second will separate Notre Dame running teammates Jacob Meadors (17:26.40) and Michael Nelson (17:26.81) for second and third overall.  Two more Bulldogs, Clayton Meyers (17:41) and Brock Kasten (18:11) will cross the line next, with 1984 SEMO National Championship Team and Missouri Sports Hall of Fame member Jay Townsend sixth (18:34).

Former Jackson High standout, and current SEMO runner Lindsey Seabaugh finishes ahead of all female competitors with her 19:53.  Breanna Conklin (20:26) and Ashley Schmittzehe (20:30) are two and three.  Nichole Clippard is also in under twenty-one minutes with a 20:45 for fourth.  Season Kaminski finishes out the top five at 22:01.

All participants received finisher medals.  Awards were presented for male and female overall and the top five in each age division.  Overall and age group winners are listed below.  Proceeds from the race go to support the non-for-profit SEMO Tri Team Club.  Nearly three hundred of Zach Young's race photographs can be viewed by following this link:
