Howard Aslinger Foundation Endurance Weekend 2013

Cape Girardeau, MO -- March 16-17, 2013 (Results @ Cape Road Runners: http://www.caperoadrunners.org/results.htm )

Well organized running events that benefit a good cause tend to grow in popularity each year.  The Howard Aslinger Memorial Scholarship Foundation Endurance Weekend is a perfect example.  Since the inaugural running in 2011, entries in the 24-hour and 12-hour endurance runs have increased nearly 50%.

New this year is the addition of a Wheelchair Division.  As always, runners will make a series of approximately one-mile loops around Arena Park.  The course set up provides individuals wanting to attempt or experience ultra-running an introduction to the sport on a condensed and controlled playing field.  The 2013 field is a mix of veterans, rookies, and parathletes.  Runners from seven different states are present.

2013 also features the kickoff of Cape Road Runners Grand Prix Series.  The Endurance Weekend's Midnight 5K makes its series debut attracting 48 coffee-fueled runners looking to score some valuable early age-group points.
