Flat, fast, and accurate course; awards for overall winners along with winners in fourteen different age groups; excellent race organization; and all for the next-to-nothing $15.00 entry fee. The always popular Chaffee Race for the Cure sees nearly 200 participants on the starting line for its seventh running.
Cape Road Runner's 2012 Runner of the Year Joe Windeknecht continues on his road to Boston with his second overall win in 2013. Joe runs an adult personal best of 18:02 to finish ahead of Patrick Matthews from Malden and Chaffee's own Dusty Ashby.
In previous years, the women's overall has been dominated by high school and former collegiate runners. This year is no different as Samantha Thierry puts over 500 meters between her and the nearest competition. Samantha's 21:12 is followed by Tami Burgard and female grandmaster Stephanie Bennett.
