Jackson, MO -- November 19, 2011 (Results at Cape Road Runners: http://www.caperoadrunners.org/Results/2011/Meandering.pdf )
Missouri Running Company and New Balance team up to bring a nice change of pace to the area's running scene. The Klaus Park Trail Run Series will consist of two races. The Moonlight Ramble, a nighttime run in December, and today's Meandering Turkey. Race Director, and SEMO's "ultimate" ultra-runner, Bryan Kelpe has laid out a challenging four and a half miles of hills, roots, rocks, and all other trail running amenities to initiate road racers to the sport. Much buzz and anticipation has been evident for weeks and Klaus Park has been a popular place for a few practice runs.
A windy overcast fall afternoon provides perfect ambiance for the Meandering Turkey's fifty-four participants. The Coach, Ryan Lane, sets an untouchable pace and finishes nearly four minutes ahead of the rest of the field. Brigitte Kinnaman leads the female field through the finish shoot.
Numerous rave reviews follow. Very well-organized event. Hand-made awards are a hit. Race tee and swag-bag first class. Expect the Moonlight Ramble to be another wild time in the woods. (Additional photos by Taylor Vaughn)
